GreenHouse

I've learned a good effect of forests on a recent TV program. What it does is to boost up our immune system. According to the program, staying at a park will give us similar effect, so I visited a greenhouse, Allan Garden. There are so many tropical plants in the greenhouse. It was a great feeling by surrounded by those colourful plants. I have realised we are so fortunate to have so many parks even though we live in a big city.

Is she a meat lover?!

Pi-chan looks so cute :)

I have recently bought some more mill worms since she loves them. I got about 100 worms this time and their food to keep them for a while as well. Saw dust is their main food and I was told to put sliced carrots or potatoes for them to have some moisture. I put their food and sliced potatoes in a plastic case and keep them . . .

I also bought some alpha alpha plants for Pi-chan, but she did not eat the plants that much. It seems like she loves worms more . . .

Bathing . . .

These pictures are when she was bathing. I wanted to capture her bathing picture, but she moved too fast. She hopped in and out a bath tub (a small plastic case) and she repeated . . . It was a little different bathing style compared with the one that she did on a towel. Maybe, she is sort of afraid of water?!

I created an image of Pi-chan!

I think she is getting more active since I have fed some mill worms. I always let her pay on the floor when I am home. She hops around on the floor a lot as if she was a rabbit . . . so cute :) I am glad to see her being very active although she cannot use her left leg fingers very well. She comes closer to me when she sees me holding a mill worm with chop sticks. She loves mill worms! I will need to buy them more soon . . . :)

Pi-chan loves mill worms!

She ate mill worms right away when I showed it to her. It seems like she loves eating mil worms, but I am wondering how she can tell they are eatable?! I borough her up since she was a baby. Is this animal instinct?!

By the way, she did not like crickets. I am not sure why though. I tried to feed it to her, but she did not eat it at all. She actuallt got scared when she saw it, so I cut it into a small piece, but then she did not eat it. I think she did not like a cricket because it was bigger and harder than worms.

After observing her, I've realised that she always pays attention something that moves. She might eat if I feed live crickets . . . but I do not think I wanna keep them. I cannot believe I keep mil worms at home!!, lol

Can you guess what are these? They are Pi-chan's new food! I have recently visited a pet shop to buy her food. When I explained to a Clark that I rescued a baby sparrow, the Clark was kindly enough to research what a sparrow eats for me. From the top, bird sand... to help her digestion. 2nd one is cuttlefish bone. 3rd one is a can of crickets! Eeeew . . . and 4 th one is mill worms . . . I was told to feed her alpha alpha kinda veggies sometimes.

She looks slimmer?

She is getting slimmer compared with before. She used to be fluffy . . . she still has a yellow beak though. When she looses her yellow beak, she will become a lady! :)

When I call her "Pi-chan!", she reacts like the picture above . . .  so cute! Recently, she sometimes sounds like us, I mean she mimics our voice?! like a Parakeet does, I'm not sure. Is this because she is often in front of a computer with me while I was watching T.V. or movies?!

One day, she might speak our language! :)

She looks full :)

Since Pi-chan can eat dry food by herself, I do not have to feed her at all. This picture is when she was asking for baby food. You can see some baby food around her mouth, right. ..so cute! Although she did not have to get baby food from me, but I still play with her every day. She loves to rest in my hands. :)

Pi-chan can eat bird food by hersel!

She can eat bird food by herself now! I feel relieved because I do not have to worry about her while I'm away :)

I won't see her begging some food like the above picture anymore, but I am happy that she is growing up! She readily hops out onto my hand and rubs her beak against my hand in an affectionate manner. She is so cute!

Pi-chan is a house sparrow!

Pi-chan is relaxing in my hand. She is cute isn't she? I sometimes hold her like this while using a computer :) She is such a spoiled baby bird. She plays with tissue paper these days. I have started giving some water with a small cup, but I poured some water into a little big cup today to see her reaction. She started bathing!

Do you remember that I found out that Pi-chan was a female? Today, I would like to let you know that she is a house sparrow. I was surprised that there were so many sparrows in the world!

Daily routine

This is how I know she is full and happy :) Can you see her neck is kinda rounded? This means she is full, lol.

She always comes to my hand after being full of food. After a while, she starts taking a nap. When she gets hungry, she flies over the keyboard and buzzes her wings for some food :)

P-chan is a female bird!

This picture is recent P-chan. I found out that P-chan was a female bird. I was searching for the distinguish between female sparrows and male sparrows.

There is a prominent different in their appearance. Please take a look the bellowed picture. A male bird has black colour around eyes and neck area. On the other hand, female birds have light brown colour and they do not have any black colour on their face or neck.

P-chan has started flying around my room and walking around on the keyboard while I am using a computer. She is getting very active and I enjoy her company these days.

Recent P-chan

Yum yum . . . isn't she cute? She is asking for food. I normally feed her power food mixed with water, but I've started giving her some grains that adult birds eat. She cannot eat a lot of those adult food yet.

By the way, have you seen sparrows bathing on the ground? They take sand bath to get rid of parasites. She does the same action on a towel. I hope she won't have any parasites!

Day 6

Wow, P-chan has started using its wings!

I can see that P-chan is still limping its right leg, but P-chan can learn how to fly. I hope P-chan will improve its leg soon . . .

Friday 27 July 2012

Day 5

P-chan is getting slimmer and slimmer like an adult sparrow. P-chan is growing so fast. I like the way it is now, but I guess this is my selfish thought . . . P-chan has to grow up quickly as possible so that P-chan can go back to a wild life, right?

Tuesday 24 July 2012

Day 4

Isn't it cute? It is still 4 days since P-chan came to my home, but P-chan looks like a sparrow now! I love yellow beak.

So far, raising a baby bird is not hard at all, but I realised P-chan's right leg was something wrong. I assume P-chan might have twisted its leg when it fell down from a nest. Is P-chan can go back to a wild life?! I hope so . . .

Saturday 21 July 2012

Day 3

Only 3 days passed, but P-chan looked so different now. His wings are getting longer as well as its tail.

I think P-chan is ok now cuz P-chan woke me up at 6 in the morning today, LOL I wanna sleep more, I hope P-chan won't wake me up early tomorrow . . .

Tuesday 17 July 2012

Day 2

I named "P-chan" :) I have no idea if it is a female or male bird unfortunately. When I fed some food P-chan ate it all. I think P-chan is growing very fast cuz P-chan looked slightly different than yesterday. Is it because it is a wild animal? It is very important, but I still worry about P-chan cuz I am not sure if P-chan can survive or not. Although I have some experience to bring up some chicks, things are different P-chan is a wild bird . . .

Saturday 14 July 2012

What a heck ... is this?

What do you think it is? Yes, this is a baby sparrow . . . I found it on a street on my way home! I looked around a nest, but I was not able to find it. It looked gross, sorry to say that, but this hairless creature creeped me out a little, but I soon realised that it was a baby bird . . . lol

I did not know what to do at first, but I recalled the day I saw a dead baby sparrow on a street. I decided to bring it home to take care; otherwise, this chick would be die like the one that I saw a couple of weeks ago.

I was not sure how long it stayed on a street. I rushed to a pet shop to buy some food for a baby bird. I hope this baby sparrow will get well soon.

Peace of Mind . . .

It was a nice day today, so I took a picture where I often have a lunch break.

Have you seen a castle in the sky? Doesn't it look like?! :)

Lake shore

Hello! How is your weekend so far?

When I went to a lake I saw many tiny flowers blooming from the ground. It is a good time to go on a picnic. I have to fix my bicycle :)

Monta

Hello!
It is Friday, but it is still cold . . . L Some trees have leaves that are other than green during this freezing week. I hope we will have some warm weather soon!

Tuesday 24 April 2012

Cold . . . brrr

What is going on today? It was sleeting this morning and the sun came out for a while and started sleeting this afternoon again. I hope I can see the sun shine tomorrow!

Welcome to my blog site!

Welcome to my blog! I would like to share some pictures that I took while taking a walk.

My first picture on this page is a lady bug which is considered as a lucky symbol, so I decided to share this image. I love the colour of red and you can see a good contrast with green and yellow. What a piece of art!

According to Wikipedia, the coccinellidae (a lady bug) are generally considered useful insects because the insects eat plant eaters, such as Aphid.

I will try to post my images in regular basis, so please come and visit my site! :)

Cheers!
